　私はアメリカで学生をしている２１歳です。私は戦争史に大変興味があり、勉強をさせていただいています。捕虜という立場の方が、このような作品を作られていること、またその内容につきましても、非常に感銘を受けました。厳しき境遇に有っても人の中に優しさや愛は失われないものなのか、という私の疑問は、答えへと一歩近づきました。ありがとうございます。これからも体に気をつけて、色々な話を若い世代へと伝えてください。お願いします。

　戦争は何処の国がやっても敵も味方も傷つき、いつも善良で弱い庶民が傷つきます。地球から戦いが終わらぬ限り続くであろう悲しいことですね。ロシアの民もいい人達で、皆同じ思いなのです。

I was reading your website, as it is quite interesting, and I would like to point out a mistake. there is the picture about hungarians (https://kiuchi.jpn.org/en/nob/36.htm), and its partially wrong. we hungarians call ourselves magyar(=hungarian), and our country Magyarorszag (orszag=country). Vengria is the name of Hungary in slavic languages (in this case, russian). By the way, did you know that we use the same order in naming? Im called Juhasz Benedek in hungarian, and Juhasz is my family name, just like in Japan. Regards Benedek Juhasz

Ms. Benedek Juhasz. Thank you for the point of my mistake. My father might be quoting the pronunciation of Soviet soldier's word. The sentences were corrected to "Hungary was calling Vangria in Russian.". By the way, the usage of the first name was the same as Hungary and Japan. I feel familiarity very much.

Tears came into my eyes as I saw the drawings about Hungarian soldiers. The descriptions are so true, anyway :)) Did you know that Hungarians and Japanese have the most common parts in mitocondrial DNA? :)

I just watched all 10 hours of the Kobayashi movie The Human Condition and was curious to learn more history of that time. I found your wonderful site during my lunch break and really enjoyed the drawings and commentary. Perhaps there would be fewer wars if politicians heard the true stories of people caught up in the conflicts. Thank you and best wishes.

I found this site by accident but I am so very glad that I did. I found the story to be moving, sad and humorous and a true case of triumph over adversity and that happiness can be found in the worst of places. Very best wishes to you all and many thanks again. 　はじめまして。この掲示板でこのようなお尋ねをする事をお許しください。一昨年、父を連れ劇団四季の「異国の丘」公演に行った際に、ソ連抑留原画展を拝見しました。ユーモラスな画風ではありますが、当時の抑留者のご苦悩を痛感致しました。実は私の父もシベリア抑留者の一人であります。このたび、父が抑留体験を人前で語る事になり、息子の私も、少しでも役に立てばと資料集めなどを手伝っております。その矢先、貴ホームページに出くわし、この作品の中からプロジェクターで投影し会場の皆様に見ていただければ、よりいっそう体験の印象が伝わるのではないかと思い巡らした次第です。もちろん、許可が得られなければ断念致しますが、是非お力をお借りしたいとお尋ねしたしだいです。必要な手続きがあれば是非お教えいただければ幸いです。

What a poignant yet wonderfully uplifting story about the human spirit! Of cruelty mixed with kindness, and bonding between different peoples placed in similar situations.. I am surprised yet moved that in the end he would say the time in the camp was well spent-- it must have been quite a journey, yet he retained his spirit. You are lucky to have a man like that as your father to share his experience with you.
